Inclusion

West Exe School aims to enable all students to take a full part in every aspect of school life.

We try to develop each child’s self-confidence and self-esteem, to recognise individual strengths and to encourage socialisation with others in the college. We are committed to offering an inclusive curriculum to ensure the best possible progress for all of our students  whatever  their  needs  or  abilities.  We believe that educational inclusion is about equal opportunities for all learners, whatever their age, gender, ethnicity, impairment, attainment and background. At West Exe School, the SEN department is known as the Learning Support Team and it is part of the Inclusion Hub. The Inclusion Hub is both a physical space and a broad range of services, support packages and groups, which help our learners succeed. It consists of the Independent Learning Zone, the Pupil Development Space, and the Learning Support Room (which specifically supports SEN).
