West Exe School Canteen Service is now run by a new company and now trades under a new name “The Social”. It continues to offer excellent value for money, with good nutritional freshly made food. The service provides a new menu with a tempting range of sandwiches, salads and snack pots, alongside a meal of the day.
Students may bring a packed lunch which can be eaten in the Dining Room, Tent (covered outdoor social area) or Drum (indoor social area) or buy a school lunch from the healthy range offered by Sodexo’s catering service.
The school canteen operates a three week rotation of menus and these are changed each term. Our friendly staff will be pleased to help with any choices or concerns – please just ask them.
All catering at West Exe School is cashless at the point of sale, and students will need to use a PIN number to pay. They will need to charge their accounts with funds at the machines in school before going to purchase items. This can be done using notes or silver coinage (10 pence and above). The machines are available before school, during break and lunchtime, and after school, but not during lessons. At the till, they will have to enter their PIN number and the amount will be debited from their balance. It is also possible for parents to pay by cheque to top up the accounts. Cheques should be placed in the special marked boxes in the canteen area, and must be made payable to ‘Sodexo’. Please ensure that your child’s name and registration group are written on the back of the cheque.
Students have time to eat their lunch and relax before the warning bell which sounds at 1.45pm.
