Each student is part of a tutor group who meet with their tutor for 15 minutes every day. Tutor groups normally stay together with their tutor throughout their time at West Exe School, and the tutor is a student’s first point of contact for support in school. Tutors build excellent relationships with the students in their groups.
Each student is seen by their tutor on a regular basis through the year to discuss achievement and set targets for future progress. Student and tutor will begin the year by looking at a student’s targets and review progress towards these during the year. Any concerns will be communicated to parents. Students can also use these sessions to share with tutors any concerns they may have.
