Our Trust of Schools

Parent engagement and Groups

West Exe endeavours to communicate positively with our parents and carers. It is really important to us that there is an effective partnership between School and home, ensuring that we all have the best interests for our young people.

Throughout the academic year, the following opportunities are in place for parents to engage with the School:

- At least one parents’ evening per year group, with additional specific themed evenings such as Year 7 Meet the Tutor and Year 8 Options evening

- Termly Parent Group meetings, with focussed agenda items to allow parents to have a voice and be a part of our School development

As a School, we use letters and electronic communication via text messages, email and the MCAS app to give information to our parents and carers at regular intervals.

We welcome our parents and carers to communicate with us as often as is needed whether it is just a general query or question. We would recommend that parents and carers contact the School by email in the first instance; for pastoral or curriculum queries contact is via the Head of Year or tutor.

Staff at West Exe have full timetables, including teaching commitments, meetings and enrichment activities, which means that it is unlikely that they will be immediately available.

If you have any issues you would like to discuss regarding your child’s time at West Exe please do contact their tutor in the first instance. They are best placed to deal with individual concerns and worries.
