The West Exe Electives Programme

The Electives programme is an important part of our enrichment curriculum which supports the development of the student attributes outside our academic curriculum. We have a huge range of exciting courses that enables students to develop new skills and engage in shared experiences.
Our Electives programme will commence in September and will take place each Wednesday afternoon,
1.25- 3.05 pm, as part of our curriculum. Students will be able to select courses they are interested in, and over the course of the programme, they will have opportunities to learn and experience different skills and knowledge which will help them both in their career/employment journey but also as part of our community.
Each elective programme will run for 12 weeks (one cycle) and students will need to select options from the three different areas:
- Physical/Active
- Skill development
- Community/Volunteering
Students MUST select from all three areas, to ensure they gain a balance of skills and experience.
Students will be able to make their choices at the start of term, supported by their tutors in an induction session. It is important that students use this booklet to make informed choices about the content and expectations of the course. Once a course has been started, students will not be able to change their option.
The booklet below is full of information on the courses that we have on offer.
